Jessy Belle Starts Season on a High
Melbourne, August 2 – Starting then new racing season with a bold front running win at Moonee Valley on Saturday was talented mare Jessy Belle, a $75,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the draft of Torryburn Stud.
Prepared by Luke Oliver, the daughter of Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) has had a productive three year-old season winning four of 12 starts and picked up where she left off when taking out the Benchmark 90 event over a mile by three-quarters of a length.
“Every time we’ve raised the bar she has stepped up and I’ve had less talented horses than her be very competitive in stakes races before,” said Luke Oliver.
“She’s won three races at Moonee Valley now, but in saying that she’s pretty versatile and there’s a few mares mile races over the spring which we can look at now.”
Bred by Bennelong Bloodstock and consigned for sale by Torryburn, Jessy Belle has won $288,815 for her big group of owners and is the first winner for well-bred metropolitan winner Unconditional Love, a daughter of dual Group I winner Flitter.
