Summer Racing Heats Up
The Spring Carnival is now far behind us for another year but our youngsters are getting ready to make an assault on the Autumn Carnival with several finishing off the year in style.
Axiomatic (pictured) stepped out for her third career start at Kembla Grange this week and blew the opposition away by 7.3 lenghts. English jockey Charlie Bishop was excited by her ability and it looks like trainer Chris Waller may give her another run before a break in the next week or so.
Dixie Blossoms returned to Ron Quinton and Diddums to Gerald Ryan after a spell at Torryburn where they will commence work on their next campaigns.
Last weekend's racing saw some great results including a second for Baltic Whisper (Charge Forward x Le Sillage) at Kembla Grange. We have sent the 2yo full brother to Baltic Whisper up to Queensland and it seems trainer Doug Roberts hasn't taken long to assess the colt favourably so we are really looking forward to following his progress.
Kembla was also the location for Heartlings (Pendragon x Hayaat) win over 1400m on Saturday. Hayaat has produced a lovely full brother to Heartlings at Torryburn this year.
Bradley Smith's ever reliable gelding San Telmo (Authorised x Spire) also scored 2nd at Eagle Farm last weekend bringing his prizemoney to just under $155K and The Grey Flash (More Than Ready x Miss Brightman) scored a third at the same track over 2200m.
Bad luck for Viceman who was scratched at the barriers as favourite at Wyong last week but will run tomorrow at Warwick Farm. Whilst this is a jump up in grade, trainer Joe Pride is confident the horse is well and relaxed so we will keep our fingers crossed he runs a good race.
Our two classy 3yo fillies Red Hearts and The Pinnacle with Snowden Racing are set to trial soon and with Memento (Anthony Cummings) and Toryjoy (Chris Waller) set to go back to work so the little black book will be getting a good workout over the summer months.
