Winter Race Winners Continue
It was a great start to the new racing year for Torryburn, kicking off with a win by the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained Ready To Prophet (Smart Missile x Ready To Live (USA)) at Warwick Farm on the first day of August.
The 3yo filly by Smart Missile out of Ready To Live (USA)was a $40K purchase by Dynamic Syndications at the 2017 Magic Millions yearling sale. Congratulations to all the owners and jockey Tim Clark. Ready To Prophet will next line up in the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes.
Inwood (Smart Missile x Pixels) had a nice win in Darwin on Saturday 4 August for trainer Kerry Petrick before home bred mare Memento (Your Song x Snapshots (dam of Pixels)) won over 1200m at Sandown for new trainers Lindsay Park Racing. David Hayes had been quietly confident based upon her work at home in the lead up to this, her first start in Victoria.
Ready To Prophet's half brother Life of Waldo (Snitzel x Ready To Live (USA)) followed up with a win at Devenporta lso on 4 August.
Another family active at the moment is that of Torryburn mare Spire who's 3yo daughter The Summit(So You Think) ran a terrific race for trainer Chris Waller over 1550m at Canterbury on 8 August behindAramayo. Chris was very happy with the run and the filly has returned home for a short spell before returning for what we hope will be a great campaign next time in. The Summit is a half sister to G3 winners Under The Eiefel and The Pinnacle and stakes winner Tower of Lonhro as well as San Telmo also a winner on 21 July at Doomben over 2200m. The win took San Telmo's earnings to over $250K!
It was great to see Torryburn born Harper's Choice back in the winners circle on 11 August at Rosehill following his win at the same track on 30 June.
